RMMHA Mourns the Loss of One of Our Own

The Richmond Munster Minor Hockey Association is saddened to announce the recent loss of one of our players. During a house league game at the Carp arena on the evening of February 5th, a15-year old player on the Richmond Royals Minor Midget team collapsed on the bench. The bench staff and volunteers at the arena responded immediately and began CPR. Paramedics arrived on the scene and transported the player to the hospital where he received further treatment. Sadly, despite everyone’s best efforts, the young man passed away early on the morning of February 6th. The RMMHA extends its deepest condolences to the family. Our hockey family would like to respect the family’s request for privacy and to thank the community for its support at this difficult time.

A trust fund has been set up at Scotiabank to help the Kerrs with the funeral costs.  If you would like to make a donation, you can do so at any Scotiabank branch by asking to donate to the Tyler Kerr fund. On Friday Feb.10th, Scotiabank will match all donations made on that day.

Richmond Royals Storm T.O!

The Richmond Royals Novice A Team travelled to Scarborough the weekend of Jan 13-15th taking part in the Don Montgomery Memorial tournament.  After losing their first game Friday night the team battled back Saturday with two strong wins!  In the semi-finals they skillfully beat Scarborough 5-0.  Heading to the finals with high spirits, the team had a show down against Leaside.  It was a barn burner match with the Royal’s fighting right to the end losing 3-2!  A strong second place finish for the Royals! Congratulations to all the players and coaches. Thanks to the parents for driving through the snow storm-it was worth the drive!
